Shortly after 11pm on Wednesday, two men were seen on CCTV approaching a group of people outside Parnells in Waterloo. As they approach the sports bar on South Road, a man appears to pull a knife out of his pants and move quickly towards a man standing in the doorway. He is quickly grabbed by several men and dragged to the bar door. The second masked man then appears to be trying to hit another member of the group standing near the railings....

He said he met the first group that looked like they had found something. When he asked about a cell phone, the group began insulting him, removing his snorkel and goggles and throwing them into the water and calling him a “child player,” he said. He told officers he was attacked by them and another group and that he feared for his life and acted in “self-defense.” He told investigators that he then returned to his friends and saw what appeared to be people from the two groups he had a dispute with fighting each other....
