The suspects broke into the Kay Jewelers store in Brea Mall, located at 1010 Brea Mall Road, just before 7 p.m., and used hammers to break glass windows and steal items inside, according to the Brea Police Department. The suspects fled the scene after the robbery. Some answering machines said they heard gunshots, but investigators found it was the sound of hammers hitting the glass.
