Coromon (March 2022)

Coromon is the latest version of this list and is new to “PC like Pokemon” games, which is being released on PC but has been delayed for the Nintendo Switch. Explore the beautifully illustrated world as a recruiter as part of the Lux Solis organization. Within the specialized research team, Titan Taskforce, you must explore the six Titans of the Velua area. However, nothing is what it seems. Image: Coromon / TRAGsoft Develop your team to help you safely navigate the area with 119 Coromons to choose from, divided into 13 different types. With a pixel style that is very similar to Stardew Valley and battle animation that is a combination of dynamic and powerful, this is a game to which I will dedicate several hours. The indie developers TRAGsoft created an absolute miracle, they made it even more impressive because this is their first game! Coromon is currently available on Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, PC, Linux and Mac.

Temtem (July 2020)

A massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), Temtem was developed by Crema, a Spanish game studio, and published by Humble Bumble. It was first released for early access to PCs and later released on the PlayStation 5 in 2020 and on the Xbox and Nintendo Switch in 2022. Image: Temtem / Cream Catch a possible collection of 164 Temtem creatures on the floating islands of the Airborne Archipelago trying to prevent the advances of the Belsoto Clan who wants to claim the field for themselves! The gameplay consists of two battles against the NPC and other players you encounter as you explore the world. Temtem is available on PC and PlayStation 5.

Slime Rancher (January 2016)

Slime Rancher is an interesting title, as it is a few degrees away from Pokemon, but it is still sinking toe-in. Slime Rancher is a first-person adventure game developed and released by the American indie studio Monomi Park. You play Beatrix LeBeau, a young farmer on the unexplored planet Far Far Range, whose mission is to collect, feed and breed slimes. Image: Slime Rancher / Monomi Park Upgrade your settlement and equipment so that you can cross most of the world, while increasing your ability to manage mud. The play engineer game is unique and allows players to combine certain mud features, but avoid mixing many. Slime Rancher 2 is set to be released sometime this year. Slime Rancher is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac.

Ooblets (July 2020)

Ooblets is a life simulation game that borrows elements from games such as Pokemon and Stardew Valley. Located in the seaside town of Oob, you are given the basic task of starting your own farm. Thanks to many shops that sell furniture and seeds, you can build the farm according to your preferences. Image: Ooblets / Glumberland There are also little creatures called Ooblets that have grown from seed with which players can become friends. Ooblets can help the farm perform tasks such as farming, but they also engage in breakdance battles against other Ooblets. The unique Ooblets card-based dance battle system allows players to win new Ooblets while leveling up their existing party. Ooblets is currently available on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (October 2016)

A mass disappearance of Rathalos happened mysteriously and you have to answer the question why as a young Monster Rider. Collect and build links with a series of monsters from the Monster Hunter universe and use them to fight against others in the world. Image: Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin / Capcom Unlike other Monster Hunter games, whose combat mechanisms can be very technical and strategic, Monster Hunter Stories 2 uses a turn-based combat system which is the main reason it is found in games like the Pokemon list. With lots of amazing areas to explore and 42 monsters to collect, Monster Hunter Stories 2 is perfect for franchise fans looking for a different way to interact with the creatures of this world. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is currently available on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Digimon World: Next Order (March 2016)

Digimon is and will always be compared to Pokemon, so it’s no surprise that it’s on this list. Initially, these two IPs were quite different, but they have adopted some of the best performing data between them over the years. Digimon World: Next Order is a third-person RPG in an open world environment. Players choose one of ten starting mates throughout the game. Image: Digimon World: Next Order / BANDAI NAMCO Like the popular anime, Digimons that do not meet the leveling requirements of the following situation within a specified time will eventually return to a reborn egg with a slight push in the stats. Battles are played automatically in real time, with players being able to stop fighting to give orders or heal their Digimon. There are 232 Digimon in the game, so good luck using them all to win! Digimon World: Next Order is currently available on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.

Monster Sanctuary (August 2019)

Welcome to one of the most unique titles on this list. Monster Sanctuary is a pixel, 2D side scroller that sees players exploring an expansive land with monsters by their side. Many who have tried this game have been pleasantly surprised by how fantastic it turned out. Image: Monster Sanctuary / Team17 Like Pokemon, players form a team to help them in the wild encounters of 101 different monsters that players can find in 15 different areas. Not only that, but these monsters help you cross the sky, the sea and the earth, similar to Pokemon Arceus right now. Unlike Pokemon, however, each monster has unique abilities that are upgraded through battle and their skill trees. Monster Sanctuary is currently available on the Nintendo Switch.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 (March 2016)

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 is the last and 6th title in the Dragon Quest Monsters series. Play a mysterious protagonist suffering from amnesia who needs to travel the world to unravel his past. Explore the world with the 500 different monsters that players can find with land, sea and sky variants needed for different areas. Image: Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 / Tose Use your game element known as Reactor to explore unknown paths and find hidden objects to help you discover who you are. Nexomon: Extinction (August 2020)

Nexomon: Extinction is a return to what the original Pokemon games had but in a modern world. World of Final Fantasy Maxima (November 2018)

World of Final Fantasy Maxima seems to add to the extensive rich world of Final Fantasy. Play as some of your favorite characters from the Final Fantasy tradition as you navigate through safe villages and dangerous dungeons full of puzzles and enemies. Play as Twins Lann and Reynn as they seek to restore the memories of a former Mirage Keeper to reveal the truth.
