JSO is not sure why the teenager was taken to the parking lot from the beginning. JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Jacksonville’s sheriff’s office has confirmed that a 17-year-old was shot dead near a Publix car park on 103rd Street and Ricker Road. Police say the victim was with other teens in McGirts Creek Regional Park when the shooting occurred. The victim and the other teenagers fled the scene and drove to the parking lot. Police discovered the injured teenager with a gunshot wound and died on the spot. The JSO does not know why the teenagers were in the park and no suspect has been identified.
