Now we have more information about that fatal crash just outside of St. John’s on the weekend. The person who died in the crash, which happened near Soldiers Pond, was a 21-year-old man. Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal was an international student studying at the College of the North Atlantic and was returning to Corner Brook from a sightseeing trip with four friends. Highway conditions were wet at the time after a brief, but heavy downpour. The car, which was traveling in the westbound lane, went out of control and rolled several times before coming to rest in the grass median. According to RCMP, four others suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Police are looking for dash cam footage of the incident. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or who have dashcam video of the incident are asked to contact the RCMP. A GoFundMe has been set up to send Dhaliwal’s remains back home to India.
