The shooting happened around 1:40 am. outside Mr. Pititool’s bar at 13th and Main Streets. Lt. Col. Mike John says there was an active shooter in the area and multiple shots were fired, injuring nine people. The victims were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and none are in critical condition, according to Lt. Col. John. He said an officer fired one shot at the suspect as he fled the scene, but it was not known if the gunman was injured. “I saw people running and it was just melee. Chaos. I actually saw the police running down the street trying to find the guy they were looking for,” said one witness. Radio traffic shows officers on scene trying to disperse a large crowd, “Car 50, we’re going to do another grenade. Stand by. Car 50, I copy. Another blast goes off, trying to push the crowd back.” There was another shooting in the Central Business District and police say at least two people were injured. Lt. Col. John says they don’t know if the OTR and CBD shootings are connected. Police are asking witnesses and anyone with video of the shooting to contact them as they continue their investigation.
