A 16-year-old boy who was hospitalized after an attack reported outside of Edmonton High School earlier this month has died. Police say in a press release that the teenager succumbed to his injuries on Friday and that their homicide department has now taken over the investigation. Police responded to the reported attack on April 8 around 2:44 p.m. outside McNally High School. The teenager was found with life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. The necropsy-necropsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Police say in a statement that a number of young suspects have been identified and more information will be provided later. “On behalf of the Edmonton Police Department, I would like to thank the community who assisted us during this complex investigation,” said Sgt. said Colin Leathem in the announcement. “This tragedy has affected so many, but this is not the time for anger or hatred – this is the time to mourn and heal as a community.” Police ask anyone who has information that can help with the investigation to call them or Crime Stoppers.
