Photo: Ana Cristina Blumenkron / Netflix “It’s weird, it’s also quite familiar ground – somehow, I felt like I was kind of an expert in situations like this,” he told Sky News. “Sophie is such a different person from me, it was an interesting change of perspective to be someone very different in those moments, but yes, I grew up in a time when the media was really so powerful. “This feeling of falling asleep knowing something was coming out in the morning was horrible and something I would not want to experience again, but for some strange reason I was interested in exploring a movie.” The Anatomy Of A Scandal examines the impact of the sudden introduction of your personal life into the national debate. “If you make laws that change the lives of us all, there must be some responsibility” Rupert Friend, who plays the MP at the center of the accusations, said that it is something that comes with his territory being in the public eye. “People who are public figures – there will always be this slight separation of church and state between what they present to us and what they do in their private lives, and I generally believe that people’s private lives should be private,” he said. Photo: Netflix “You know, this is nobody’s business, unless it’s a corruption of morals and they make themselves a model of leadership or moral guidance, in a way that politicians usually are, then I think it becomes a public sector. “So it’s weird because if you’re a sculptor it’s nobody’s business what you do, but if you make laws that change the lives of us all and change what we are allowed to do, then I think there’s some responsibility.” Miller agreed. “Every situation is truly unique, it is not,” he says. “I think it’s unpleasant to make your privacy public, but in some cases, as Rupert says, it ‘s when you present your version in front of you and educate people on how to behave and behave differently, then it becomes difficult.” The drama was co-produced by David E Kelley, whose previous work includes the hit series Big Little Lies and The Undoing. Photo: Netflix “I worked very closely with a top lawyer who almost became a coach for me. “It was very important that for this role, it was as authentic as it could be and that it was my kind of character to play that character,” Dokeri said. “We also worked closely with Women’s Aid, which was very important so we could ask questions about how these characters would be an experience for someone. “And the show, it was really great for that, it gave us that attention to detail – we had so much access to people where we could talk about it and of course, for obvious reasons with a topic like this, it’s important that you get all the the right information so you can play the role as best you can. “ The similarities between the show, which is based on a book by Sarah Vaughan, and some of the real news scandals recently are not lost on Dockery.
