Actress Anne Heche was in the hospital Saturday after an accident in which her car crashed into a house and burst into flames, a spokesman said. “Anna is currently in a stable condition. Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time,” said Heather Duffy Boylston, Heche’s friend and podcast contributor. Heche’s car reached a T-intersection and veered off the road and into a home in the Mar Vista section of West Los Angeles just before 11 a.m. Friday, Los Angeles Police Officer Tony Im said. The car came to rest inside the two-story home and started a fire that took nearly 60 firefighters more than an hour to extinguish, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Television news footage showed a blue Mini Cooper Clubman, badly damaged and burned, being towed outside the house, with a woman sitting on a stretcher and struggling as firefighters put her into an ambulance. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. Police detectives are investigating. Originally from Ohio, Hetze first appeared on the NBC soap opera Another world from 1987 to 1991.
