The latest versions of iOS and iPadOS usually launch at the same time, but according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the launch of iPadOS 16 is being delayed due to problems with “Stage Manager”. iPadOS 16’s Stage Manager is the operating system’s missing link. I’ve been playing with it for the past few weeks and it finally makes multitasking intuitive on the iPad. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great start. pic.twitter.com/NtfnrYkEVP — Patrick O’Rourke (@Patrick_ORourke) July 12, 2022 For what it’s worth, I really like Stage Manager. It’s not perfect, especially when you have more than three apps open at once, but it feels like the first multitasking version of the iPad that’s intuitive and desktop-like. Stage Manager allows users to run up to eight applications simultaneously in resizable, layerable windows. Gurman says that Apple pushing iPadOS 16 back to October will result in the update falling closer to when the new M2-powered iPad Pro is released. Apple is also rumored to have plans to switch the entry-level iPad to USB-C like the rest of its tablet lineup. iOS 16 is still expected to be released in September. Source: Bloomberg Via: MacRumors
