Apple has been found testing apps using third-party apps from the App Store and is the developer logs of apps that have spilled beans around the upcoming new Macs. One of the devices being tested is a MacBook Air powered by an M2 chip that has eight CPU cores and 10 graphics cores. To put things in perspective, the current M1 model only takes eight. The leaks hint at a colorful redesign of the MacBooks, inspired by the new and colorful iMacs released last year. Along with these, Apple is also reportedly testing a more powerful Mac Mini, running on M2 and M2 Pro processors as well as a basic M2 MacBook Pro with similar specifications to the MacBook Air mentioned earlier. The M2 Max is expected to feature 12 CPU cores and 38 graphics cores – an upgrade from the 10 and 32 seen in current models. Apple is also expected to unveil a new Mac Pro powered by the successor to the recently released M1 Ultra, which powers the tiny but powerful Mac Studio. Gurman stressed that he is not sure if all the models under test will be released together. However, the new MacBook Air and Mac Mini are expected to be introduced this year.
