London Fire Brigade (LFB) have been working for hours to put out the blaze which has engulfed trees, fences, bushes and decking at the back of a row of houses on Hereford Road in Feltham. Dramatic footage and images show large flames and smoke just meters behind a row of houses. About 60 people have been evacuated and at least 30 homes have been saved since the fire service was called to the scene at 4.35pm on Sunday. The cause of the fire is not yet known, the LFB said, and 10 engines and 70 firefighters from various municipalities were sent to the blaze. “Crews also removed several cylinders involved in the fire, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat,” he added earlier. In an update late Sunday night, the LFB confirmed that the fire had been brought under control and there were no reports of injuries. Station Commander Tamer Ozdemir, who was at the scene, said earlier: “Firefighters worked incredibly hard in hot, strenuous conditions to stop the fire spreading to nearby properties. “Their hard work has saved around 30 homes on Hereford Road. “Approximately 60 residents were evacuated due to the amount of smoke. “Our drone team is on scene helping crews locate further hot spots in the surrounding forest.” LFB received at least 44 calls about the fire.
