An evacuation order has been issued by the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen for communities near the Keremeos Creek Fire, which was discovered on Friday. The order covers Green Mountain Road between Hwy. 3A to the south, Apex Mountain Road to the north and generally near Ford Lake. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the BC Wildfire Service says it is exhibiting “aggressive” and “erratic” behaviour. The agency says the fire is burning in an area that cannot operate to support air tankers and heavy equipment, but those resources are on standby. He says the Wildfire Service staff of 50 BC. is now deployed in the fire.
