RCMP, in a press release, say officers received the report of a body in the water under the William Bennett Bridge near Shelter Bay Marina around 1:15 p.m. “Officers attended and confirmed that a man had died in the shallow water,” the detachment said in a statement. The Major Crimes Unit and the BC Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the cause of death including “any possible criminality,” the statement continued. In the meantime, West Kelowna RCMP are asking for help identifying the man. He is described by police as being of “Asian origin” and aged between 20 and 40, with a medium height and slim build. He was wearing a black collared shirt and black pants when found. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-877-987-8477.
