This is especially true for today’s top phones. Of course, we are talking about the usual suspects, the popular top offers of Apple, Samsung, Google and OnePlus, which are usually among the best cameras, combining flexible cameras with interesting software features. But who does the best job, or in other words, who gets the top picture in terms of image quality? We took some pictures with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 13 Pro, Pixel 6 Pro and the fresh OnePlus 10 Pro and now it is your job to unravel the mystery and find out which one is which. As we usually do, we have cleared the existing EXIF data, so trying to pull an “insidious” would not work here. Of course, we have live reviews for every phone. You can check them all below: Without any further delay, let’s go!

Scene 1

This is a common scene during the day at a local playground. The picture was taken late in the afternoon and the sun shining on this castle slide really made the colors pop up and I could not resist taking some pictures.

Scene 2

Here’s an opportunity to try out the extremely wide possibilities of each phone. I tried to capture so many clouds along with this smaller child slide and as you can see, some phones have done objectively better work on it.

Scene 3

Despite the differences in material of all four phones, the detail is almost flawless in all the photos. Just look at how “sharp” these fir leaves are, literally and figuratively!

Scene 4

Macro photography has gradually become an important aspect of today’s top phones, as each is more than capable of capturing a stunning photograph of an awe-inspiring plant or insect. Some of the phones in this comparison use different tricks to achieve better focus at close distances. For example, both the iPhone and the Galaxy smartly switch to their Broadband cameras because they focus on shorter distances at the cost of a background that is less bokeh and less creamy.

Scene 5

Now, using the exclusive telephoto lens of each phone will quickly reveal who is who in the blind camera comparison, especially with the most keen eye. That’s why I used 3.5X zoom on all the phones to capture this sample image, as it is not inherent in any of the telephoto lenses: iPhone 13 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra have 3X telephoto lenses, OnePlus uses 3.3X one and the Pixel 6 Pro uses a 4X telephoto lens. A compromise that had to be made.

Scene 6

When the light falls, especially with a sunset that paints the sky with the most beautiful shades, all phones have the ability to take an awe-inspiring photo. Although the lights were not so dim (the photos were all taken around 8:20 pm), I chose the night mode on all four phones to record this extra boost.

Scene 7

Another dusk scene without night mode on. Again, some phones do arguably better work here, but overall, enjoyable results in all scenarios.
