Police said they responded to reports of several people being shot at Beech Street and Oxford Street in the Chinatown area of the city around 2:30 p.m. and found two men in their 30s suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said the two men were immediately taken to a local hospital, where they are being treated in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. According to Boston Police Chief Gregory Long, police later identified a suspicious vehicle and chased the car in Charlestown, where it crashed. Three people in the car were taken into custody and a weapon was found. They were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of their non-life-threatening injuries, Long said. According to Long, police suspect that there was some kind of disturbance, but the motive has not been made known. Boston Police said the investigation remains active and is currently being assisted by the Suffolk County Attorney’s Office.
