A 17-year-old boy from the Blandford area, died in the incident which took place at around 12.50am on Saturday 6th August. The incident happened on the B3072 Verwood Road, near Potterne Park, involving a silver Honda motorcycle, which was reported to be traveling in an escort with a black Yamaha motorcycle. The boy’s family has been informed. Road closures were put in place overnight as police investigated the incident. These got up around 5am. Officers investigating the crash are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Inspector Craig Tutton, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the boy who sadly died in this collision and we are doing everything we can to support them. “We owe it to them to carry out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would appeal for any witnesses to either the collision itself or the manner in which the two motorbikes were driven in the moments leading up to it.
