The 16-year-old was riding his electric bicycle along Childwall Park Avenue in Childwall around 7pm on Sunday, March 27, when the van started following him on the road. The van stopped in front of the victim and two men wearing balaclava jumped out, before attacking the boy and stealing his bicycle.
He suffered injuries to his face and arm during the robbery, which police described as a “violent attack”. Detectives have now released a CCTV image of the van used to steal the bike and are appealing to witnesses in the area of Childwall Road, Woolton Road, Queens Drive or Smithdown Road at the time.
