Arc System Works just took to the Evo 2022 stage to make an important announcement. The company has officially revealed the first DLC character to join the Season 2 roster.
Bridget will be kicking off the season and fans will be able to get their hands on this new warrior much earlier than expected. Arc System Works surprised viewers by announcing that Bridget will be available tomorrow, August 8th.
Bridget comes equipped with his classic yo-yo and uses it as his main tool in battle. With this toy/weapon in hand, Bridget fights using normal ranged attacks and quick-hit multi-hit maneuvers.
Arc System Works has shared a full gameplay trailer for the new fighter, and in it we see Bridget also fighting using the help of a large teddy bear. The companion can be seen hugging the opponents a large bear and also jumping on a motorcycle with a circle of fire around it that rushes at the enemy.
The official Guilty Gear Twitter account notes that Bridget is a handy, standard character that excels at ranged attacks and mobility. He is able to perform difficult moves using his yo-yo, and the trailer shows off some of the unique foot animations manifested as yo-yo tricks that this legacy character has in Strive.
Bridget made her playable debut on May 23, 2002 in Guilty Gear X2. This bounty hunter is often mistaken for a girl due to his appearance and the way he was raised, and his appearance in Guilty Gear Strive is quite similar to previous versions – albeit wearing a new outfit.
Guilty Gear Strive Season 2 DLC content begins with the release of Bridget tomorrow. A new roadmap shows that three more characters will follow, with one more due here in 2022.
The other two will drop sometime in 2023, and with each will come a new stage. The identities of the other three DLC candidates have yet to be revealed.
