They made the decision not to go to her wedding.” Federline, 44, told the news outlet that he and his sons were upset over an allegation Spears made on Instagram in April, accusing him of refusing to meet with her when she was pregnant with one of their sons. Federline threatened to sue his ex-wife over the since-deleted statement. “It’s been hard to watch all of this, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else,” the backup dancer reportedly said of the recent media circus around the end of November of her conservative tenure. “It was tough. The former teenage pop star was hospitalized multiple times, shaved her head, assaulted paparazzi and was forced into rehab. In the years since her court order began, her relationship with her sons had been peaceful and stable, but had recently soured due to unspecified things the teenagers saw during visits with their mom, Federline said. “There were a lot of things I wasn’t comfortable with,” he cryptically told the report. It’s hard. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a teenager who has to go to high school.” Despite taking out a restraining order against Spears’ father Jamie in 2019, Federline told the Mail that he believed the allegedly “abusive” housekeeper meant well. “I saw this man who really cared and really cares about his family and wants everything to be good,” he said. “When Jamie took over, things fell into place. But being close hasn’t healed the rift, Federline said. “If there was a way – any way – I could say something to open up [Britney’s] eyes – but I haven’t found it yet. I feel like if I found this, I’d be on the phone trying to tell her.”
