Marvel fans are shouting for something, anything, in the form of a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, as the release is just a few months away. Their wish has now come true. Marvel has just released a big teaser for the movie directed by Taika Waititi. Waititi signed on for the fourth installment of Thor movies in 2019, adapting elements from Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comics. (He read them while making Ragnarok.) This story leads Jane Foster to be diagnosed with breast cancer and eventually become the Mighty Thor. Natalie Portman, who plays Foster in the franchise, said that both of these elements will be in the film. We haven’t really seen Portman’s Foster since 2013’s The Dark World. The character has always been one of the least interesting, to be honest. But Portman agreed to repeat her role after meeting Waititi, who promised a new perspective on the character, and that Mjolnir could certainly qualify. (The Internet was full when leaked photos of Portman in March 2021 were leaked, showing how muscular the acting actress had gained for the role.) Zoom in / Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) have a moment. “What? I’m just listening.” YouTube / Marvel Studios Here’s what we know, according to the official synopsis: The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey different from anything he has encountered – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic assassin known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the disappearance of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and Jane Foster’s ex-girlfriend (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably manipulates his magic. hammer, Mjolnir, as the Almighty. Thor. Together, they embark on a painful cosmic adventure to unravel the mystery of the butcher God and stop him before it is too late. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord also join forces with Thor. Pom Klementiev as Mandis. Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer. Karen Gillan as Nebula. Vin Diesel Groot voice? and Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, the former second Yondu commander. (James Gann consulted the script as this film will help create Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, scheduled for 2023). Waititi will return as Kronan gladiator Korg, and Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as Grandmaster, ruler of the planet Sakaar. Melissa McCarthy will play Hela and Russell Crowe will appear as Jupiter. Advertisement Enlarge / Welcome to New Asgard and a “Goat Boat” view. YouTube / Marvel Studios With the relaxed tones of Guns N ‘Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, the teaser begins with Thor thinking about his future. “These hands were once used for battle,” we hear him say. “Now they are just humble tools for peace. I have to understand exactly who I am. I want to choose my own path.” Look, Thor went through a lot, between the tragic events of Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame, losing most of his family and everyone except a handful of Asgardians. So who can blame him for not wanting to be a superhero anymore, just preferring to “live in the moment”, man? Thor’s personal journey begins with gaining form, fighting ropes as a champion (only, with chains, because this is Thor) and he will soon return to top battle form – he just does not care so much about battle. There will no doubt be fights and drama and a bit of romance, but there is still plenty of this characteristic Waititi humor. “Remember what I told you,” Quill told his crew. “Have you ever felt lost? Just look into the eyes of the people you love.” The camera focuses on the Guards. And then Thor’s smiling face appears, making Quill a little uncomfortable. “What? I’m just listening,” Thor says. Zoom / If it had a hammer: Natalie Portman handles Molnir as the Mighty Thor. YouTube / Marvel Studios There is a brief look at Crowe’s Jupiter and Thompson Valkyrie who looks like a boss in an elegant suit (reminiscent of the role of Men in Black: International). We do not see Gorr, so it is not clear how close the character will cling to the comics. The Gorr of the comics has a deadly mantle of propellers and holds the all-Black the Necrosword homicide, forged by the same primordial deity that created the cohabitants who eventually became Venom. So, there are some visually impressive possibilities to work with. Advertising
At least we finally see Portman handling Mjolnir as Mighty Thor in the last frame. looks wonderfully mute. And is it that “Goat Boat” (unveiled in February as the official LEGO set) is taking off to give Thor a new adventure? (The two goats in the LEGO set are called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, and they pull the ship.) Waititi called Thor: Love and Thunder “the craziest movie he’s ever made,” as if we were told 10 year olds should be in a movie and we said yes to all things. ”Our inner 10 year olds are eager to see more. Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in theaters on July 8, 2022. Marvel Studios Posted by YouTube / Marvel Studios
