Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly told Chelsea he wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with a number of clubs showing an interest in him.
The 21-year-old started just 11 Premier League games last term as his campaign was derailed by an Achilles injury which meant he did not feature from early March onwards.
But now fit and available, he was not even included in the squad for Chelsea’s weekend home win at Everton on Saturday, suggesting he is not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has told Chelsea he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old was at Goodison Park on Saturday but was not included in the matchday squad.
According to Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave the Blues in search of regular first-team football and his representatives have been given permission to negotiate a move.
The report adds that European heavyweights Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in taking the winger on loan, along with two Premier League clubs.
Those could be Southampton and Leicester, who have been named by the Guardian as teams also shortlisted for Hudson-Odoi.
It suggests Hudson-Odoi is not in Blues manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans this season
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus reportedly interested in loaning the winger
“I want to play as much as possible,” the 21-year-old told Chelsea’s official website last month. “Regular football brings out consistency and so I want to keep playing and playing as much as I can.”
Hudson-Odoi was also previously targeted by German champions Bayern Munich in 2019, but the move fell through.
Since making his first-team debut for Chelsea in January 2018, the winger has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular.
Despite winning three caps for England in the past, Hudson-Odoi has hinted he will switch allegiance to Ghana ahead of this year’s World Cup.
Marcos Alonso has also been ruled out at Everton as he pushes ahead with a move to Barcelona
With the tournament just three months away, it seems he is keen to get on the court and prove himself, which could give him the chance to feature in Qatar.
Tuchel opted to name Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling in his starting line-up as Chelsea won 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday, with Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech both on the bench ahead of Hudson-Odoi.
Marcos Alonso was also left out of the mission, as he tries to proceed with his transfer to Barcelona.
