Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, should give her husband Prince Charles “a pep talk” amid his donations scandal, a journalist has suggested. In his opinion piece for Daily Mail, Stephen Glover noted that the Duchess of Cornwall weighed in on Prince Philip’s “philosophy” at the recent Oldie magazine event. “Look up and pay attention, say less, do more – and get on with the job.” And that’s exactly what I intend to do,” he said. The reporter expressed that Camilla “needs to take Philip’s no-nonsense approach and give her husband a good talking-to” as she is embroiled in allegations of receiving donations from the Bin Laden family. “He could say, for example: ‘What a fool you were — again. You seem to be doing everything to bring disrepute to the monarchy. You can be a stupid idiot sometimes, Charles,” Glover wrote. The journalist also weighed in on Charles’ “repulsive judgement”, saying “as a consequence of his great importance, he is somehow exempt from the standards that govern the rest of us”. “The opposite is happening. We look to our next King to set an example of good sense – to be impeccable in his conduct, as his mother, the Queen, was throughout her long reign,” he added.
