A BMW car for private rental company Bolt was driving from Stechford Lane to Bromford Lane when it was hit by a Nissan Qashqai at about 22:00 on Saturday 16 April. It rotated 360 degrees, while the other vehicle overturned on its roof from the Fox and Goose pub, outside Washwood Heath Road. A separate and tragically fatal accident followed at Wolverhampton last night, where an 18-year-old passenger was killed and the driver was rushed to hospital. The 42-year-old taxi driver was carrying two teenage passengers and they were all rushed to hospital. It seems that the passengers of the other vehicle were not present when the emergency services arrived at the spot. He told BirminghamLive: “It was hit last night at the Fox and Goose crossroads as it continued straight from Stechford Lane to Bromford Lane. “He was hit hard in the upper left corner of his car. This led to his car turning 360 and the other car crashed into the dam and overturned on its roof. “The fire brigade, the police and the ambulance were at the scene a little later and temporarily cordoned off the area. Special thanks to those who helped him get out of the car. “My brother works for Bolt and had two passengers in the back of his car. Fortunately, everyone survived the crash and was taken to hospital.” The taxi driver, from Hodge Hill, and the occupants, a man and a woman in their teens, suffered multiple non-life-threatening injuries. They were later discharged from the hospital. The 39-year-old sister of the taxi driver said that measures should be taken to calm down the traffic to reduce the chances for more incidents.
