A critical warning was issued for a possible tornado in Clearwater County, Alta., around 2:40 p.m. Monday. At 3:45 p.m., the alert said a rotating storm, possibly producing a tornado, was located near Rocky Mountain House and was moving east at 50 km/h. As of 4:03 p.m., the critical alert has been canceled. However, at 5:40 p.m., a new critical alert was issued for Red Deer County. The alert said a tornado could form due to a strong storm 10 kilometers northwest of Markerville moving east.

Damaging winds, very large hail and heavy rainfall are also possible for all affected areas.
