Update 10:30 a.m .: Frost warnings and frost warnings have been issued for most areas north and west of DC with cold temperatures guiding tonight. The frost alert is valid from midnight until 9 a.m. Monday and includes Howard, Montgomery, Loudoun, Prince William and Fauquier counties. The freeze warning covers areas further north and west, including Carroll and Frederick counties, and is also in effect from midnight to 9 p.m. on Monday. Residents in those areas subject to frost or frost warning should take care to protect sensitive plants. A cool, chilly Easter Sunday is followed by an even colder start to the work week, with rain arriving late Monday morning or early afternoon, perhaps even starting with a winter mix north and west of DC Sunshine returning Tuesday as temperatures begin to gradually increase in temperature until the middle of the week with dry conditions expected. Today (Easter Sunday): We are in the cool 40’s this morning with sub-average temperatures maintained throughout the day. Be sure to get a jacket if you are going out and you may want to keep the egg hunt until it warms up a little later in the day. The afternoon highs should reach the mid-50s with mostly sunny skies and a steady northwest breeze blowing close to 30 mph.
