A detective has been found dead inside a Sydney police station with a full-scale investigation now underway. The body of a 46-year-old detective sargeant was discovered inside Ermington Police Station in Sydney’s south-west at midday on Monday. NSW Police say there are no suspicious circumstances, with a firearm believed to have caused his death. The body of a 46-year-old detective sargeant was discovered inside Ermington Police Station in Sydney’s south-west at midday on Monday The officer was on-duty at the station on Lister Avenue from a specialist command.  His death is set to trigger a number of reports, with the Professional Standards Command and Law Enforcement Conduct Commission to be involved. Police have started a critical incident into the death of an officer with more than two decades of experience.  A report into the 46-year-old’s death is currently being prepared for the Coroner. NSW Police are offering support to colleagues and other staff at the station.
