A press release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service reports that on Wednesday afternoon, officers observed the vehicle in question nearly cause a collision in the area of Wellington Street East and Tancred Street. A traffic stop was initiated and investigators seized quantities of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphine, as well as counterfeit currency. The full text of the press release is as follows: On August 3, 2022, officers from the Crime Suppression Unit and Narcotics Enforcement Unit charged Christian Boissineau, 46, Jasen Hansen, 46, and Mario Vautour, 41, with possession of property obtained by crime. Around 9:20 p.m., officers were conducting general patrols in the area of Wellington Street East and Tancred Street when they observed a gray sedan nearly collide with another vehicle. Officers caught up with the vehicle and ran the license plate number through the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Ingleside, Ont. on July 14, 2022. A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a business in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East. When they approached the vehicle, the officers observed the three defendants in the vehicle. All three were arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. After the arrests, the three defendants and the vehicle were searched. Jasen Hansen was found to be in possession of approximately 0.45 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl and four counterfeit Canadian $20 bills. Mario Vautour was found to be in possession of approximately 0.91 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, approximately 12.1 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, approximately 3.09 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, four hydromorphine pills and 600 dollars in Canadian currency. The estimated retail value of the drugs seized is $6,705. Christian Boissineau is charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The defendant was released on a notice to appear and is scheduled to appear in court on October 24, 2022.
