Emergency services were called to the Westbrook area near RAF Welford in Newbury for an incident that they said could have been caused by fireworks. Explosions were heard from passers-by, who filmed huge plumes of smoke rising above the spot. It has not yet been confirmed whether the RAF base is at the site of the fire or whether there are any injuries. The highway reopened at around 5.30pm.
