Updated: 16:41 17 April 2022 Swimmers appreciated the higher temperatures as hundreds headed to the North Sea for Felixstowe’s rescheduled Christmas swim. The event, which is in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice, was postponed due to extreme weather conditions, but returned for the 17th year on Easter Sunday. One of the many “dippers” who participated in this year’s event was Tim Kenny. There was a great atmosphere and it is just wonderful to have Dip back in its natural form. and the water was a little warmer than it usually is at Christmas! “It’s such a brilliant event to support a fantastic local charity and I look forward to the Christmas Dip later this year.” Returning for the 17th time, the event saw the “dippers” wearing a series of fancy clothes before diving into the icy cold sea at Felixstowe Beach. Since I was not able to host The Dip in 2020 and had to postpone it to Christmas Day 2021, it was so enjoyable to be able to host the event in its traditional form this Easter Sunday. “We look forward to hosting the Christmas Dip later this year, so be sure to get updates in the fall on how to register your place.” David and Henrietta Fox on Felixstowe Beach after forgetting the waters for the Easter swim – Credit: Ella Wilkinson The Dippers wore a series of fancy clothes before diving into the icy cold sea at Felixstowe Beach – Credit: St Elizabeth Hospice The Dippers wore a series of fancy clothes before diving into the icy cold sea at Felixstowe Beach – Credit: St Elizabeth Hospice The Dippers wore a series of fancy clothes before diving into the icy cold sea at Felixstowe Beach – Credit: St Elizabeth Hospice All funds raised will be donated to St Elizabeth Hospice and its services through East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
