An aunt may be the owner of the oldest Easter egg in the world that has not been opened. Hillion Fern was only 13 years old when they gave her the ornate chocolate, but she could not eat it because it looked so nice. The egg is still in its original cellophane and Hillion has not even eaten the bag of candies and chocolates he had. She now pays around λί 80 a month to keep the egg in a cool storage container to keep it from melting. Chillon said: “I still remember the day they gave it to me. It was just so beautiful I didn’t want to eat it. I thought to myself, ‘I’ll keep it until Whitsun’, but I never ate it, so I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll keep it until Christmas’ and after Christmas they came and went. “It became a little difficult after that to see how long I would last. I am very impressed with the power of my will because I have always liked chocolate. He said: “The sugar narcissus was bright yellow, but now it turns a little brown, but the egg is still intact and all the chocolates and candies are still inside. “I could not eat it now, even if I wanted to, but now it has become a member of the family and I will keep it forever. “There was something special in the egg that I wanted to keep and after a while it became very valuable to eat. “I am sure he is a world winner. I’ve heard of old Easter eggs but they have never unfolded. I’m sure this is a record. It may seem silly, but I want to make sure it stays in perfect condition. “It’s in Warwickshire, but I moved to be closer to my daughter in Wales, but when I was close, I would go and visit it occasionally.” Hillion moved from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, with her now-deceased husband David to Cardigan, Wales, in 2011.
