Police say they found the body of 82-year-old Doris Cumming late Thursday at a house she shared in Armucci with her 28-year-old grandson, Robert Keith Tincher III. He has now been charged with murder, aggravated assault and concealment of death. According to detectives, Cumming’s family thought she had left the state, but when they did not hear from her, they reported the elderly woman missing. Investigators believe she was injured in a fall last December and instead of seeking medical help, Tincher reportedly put her in the freezer while she was still alive. “From what we identified at the time, he thought he was still breathing and had some movement as he entered the freezer,” Floyd County researcher Brittany Werner told WAGA-TV.

The suspect allegedly told police that he “heard and saw many bones breaking”. He then allegedly wrapped it in plastic bags and put it in the oversized freezer. She admitted that Cumming’s back broke when she put her body in the freezer. There was apparently no “quarrel or provocation” leading to the deadly act, according to police. Sorry, but this video failed to load. She then went on to live in her house with the body in the freezer before transporting the body to a storage facility in March. Ticher reportedly told police he did not call for help because he feared he would be arrested on a warrant against him for making terrorist threats against his ex-wife in 2018. “He said he was the only member of the family who gave him the kindness, love and attention he needed,” Werner said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now conducting an autopsy to determine when and how Cumming died. [email protected] @HunterTOSun
