ITV News editor Royal Chris Ship explains the importance of Thursday’s visit Harry and Megan secretly flew to the United Kingdom to visit Queen and Prince Charles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and “stopped”, according to their office, to see Harry’s father and grandmother in Windsor. Prince Charles had just replaced the queen in the traditional Liturgy of Holy Thursday. Harry and Megan were spotted by some of the church visitors heading to St George’s Chapel for today’s service. This is the first time the Sussex have been together in the United Kingdom since leaving the royal family in March 2020. And it’s also the first time Megan has seen the queen and her father-in-law, Prince Charles, since she made racist allegations against an anonymous senior family member. Harry and Megan will both be on the VIP “Yellow” carpet at the Invictus Games, held in The Hague (yellow is the main color of the tournament). Prince Harry is a founding partner of Invictus Games, having created them after his tour of Afghanistan.
