The accident occurred early Thursday morning at approximately 3:15 p.m. near Spadina Avenue and King Street West in the city’s fashion district.
At that time, police said a vehicle traveling at high speed hit a pedestrian, stopped for a while and then fled the scene.
The victim, who has not been identified by police, was rushed to the trauma center in critical condition where she was pronounced dead on Saturday.
According to Sgt. Murray Campbell, who spoke to reporters at the scene, said the driver of the suspect vehicle left the scene at high speed and “knew exactly what happened” after the collision.
Investigators released new images of the suspect’s vehicle on Saturday, which they described as a white, 2019 or newer, convertible Mercedes AMG GT with a red interior.
They said that the roof of the vehicle was folded at the time of the collision and there will be significant damage to the front.
The only suspicious description given by the police is that the driver is a man with dark hair. The police ask him to contact a lawyer and surrender to the police.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash or have security camera or dashboard footage of the area or incident should contact investigators at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers.

“We are appealing to anyone who can help us solve this crime. Please come to the police. And to the person who was driving the vehicle that hit her, do the right thing “.
