The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, was in high spirits as she arrived at the tournament with her husband the Duke and their seven-year-old daughter, where they sat at the Sandwell Aquatics Center to watch the swimming heats.
The mother-of-three looked fashionable in the £1,945 white Alexander McQueen trousers for the event, which she first wore while touring the Caribbean earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte, who wore a £44 Rachel Riley dress, looked delighted to be attending the pageant, wildly gesturing to her parents as they sat in the stands.
Today’s occasion marked the first time the little princess joined her parents for a solo outing without one of her brothers, Prince George, eight, and Prince Louis, four.
In a cheeky display, the seven-year-old could be seen clapping her hands enthusiastically, sticking her tongue out and gasping for breath in moments of action – while her mother tenderly tucked the strands of her hair behind her ear that had fallen from her her neat braids.
The little royal is proving to be quite the sports fan – days ago, she joined her father for a video message to send her best wishes to the Lionesses ahead of the Euro 2022 final.
Princess Charlotte, seven, was the star of the show today as she joined her parents Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 40, in Birmingham to cheer on the athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games today.

This is the third time this year that the Duchess has worn the suit – having first worn the suit during her controversial Caribbean tour earlier this year, when she visited a youth group with Prince William to mark Windrush Day.

Today is just Princess Charlotte’s latest public appearances in recent months. The little royal attended a number of different events to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, she and Prince George took part in their first official engagement at the same time, joining the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a visit to Cardiff in June.
Princess Charlotte has become a favorite of royal fans thanks to her sassy personality. She was snapped making funny faces, waving at photographers – and even sticking her tongue out on a family outing.
Senior members of the royal family are representing the Queen at the Commonwealth Games as she continues to take a step back from royal duties. The monarch, 96, remains at her Scottish home of Balmoral, Aberdeenshire.
