Photo: Contributed If you’re a politician looking for a little extra cash, the City of Kelowna has just the job for you. The city needs to hire about 300 workers to help with the October municipal elections. The positions include Electoral Officer, Alternate Electoral Officer and Presiding Electoral Officer. Workers must be available on October 5, 8, 12, 13, 14 and general voting day on October 15. Polling staff will work from 7am to 9.30pm on the designated days. “Working as an election official is an opportunity to get involved in the community while gaining valuable knowledge about the election process,” said Laura Bentley, Kelowna’s Chief Elections Officer. “We’re looking for people who are passionate about our community and who enjoy connecting with people.” The daily pay rate ranges between $265 and $475 and includes mandatory training.
