It’s no secret Oliver has a bone to take with Dr. Oz. In 2014, the British-American host spent 16 minutes in a section outlining the scientific controversy surrounding Oz and the food supplement industry. Oliver has continued to make negative reports about Oz’s pseudo-scientific allegations in episodes over the years. It would be right to throw Oz in the fryer if the controversial TV doctor of the day ever ran for a key position in the Senate that could change the balance of Congress. Oliver began by questioning Dr.’s main residence. Although the Ohio-born retired doctor is running for office in Pennsylvania, social media often features Oz 200 miles from his North Jersey mansion. Oliver called this “Eric Adams’s expert”, referring to the previous scandal of the current mayor of New York, where the then mayoral candidate was rumored to live in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The Emmy-winning host revealed that he is also well aware of Oz’s proximity to New York because the talk show’s offices are located directly across from the hall from Last Week Tonight’s. The naughty Oliver had his staff set up a giant alligator holding his middle finger straight to their desks to express contempt for alleged medical malpractice. “It seemed like a good way to greet them every morning,” Oliver said of Oz and his staff. Oliver then recorded many of Oz’s awkward video attempts to connect with Pennsylvania voters: one Senate candidate complains about high vegetable prices to a local Redners, another complains about rising prices oil while pumping gas and, finally, one that features a slightly cohesive Oz praising Pennsylvania high school wrestlers. Oliver argued that there was no way Oz could really sympathize with working-class voters over rising food and gas prices because of his multimillionaire status. Then, Oliver revealed a brazen video posted in 2019 with Dr. Oz to wakesurf in Italy on Grits song “My Life Be Like” to reinforce this disconnect. “The truth is that his life is because he is rich. “Which means he can do things like that, but what he can’t do is stand in front of gas stations and pretend to be personally affected by those numbers.” Realizing that his anger was misdirected to The Dr. At the Oz Show, Oliver admitted his regret over the alligator’s trick with his middle finger and apologized. “This campaign actually taught me something because I’ve talked a lot about Dr. “The staff had to work every day to make sure it was not worse,” Oliver said. “He had to leave his show to run for the Senate, and if any of his staff return to our office in the coming weeks to clear things up, we have left a special message for them to our alligator:” I’m sorry. “It’s like a nightmare.” “Because it really does.”
