A 29-year-old bank executive from Los Angeles has been identified as the third person killed in Washington by lightning in the past week.
“Brooks was an incredible young man who will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and unwavering positivity,” City National Bank said in a statement about employee Brooks Lambertson’s death, according to the LA Times. “His sudden loss is devastating to all who knew him and his family, friends and colleagues appreciate the thoughts and prayers that have been pouring in from across the country.”
Lambertson was killed Thursday night while in the nation’s capital on a business trip, the LA Times reported. A couple celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary, identified as James Mueller, 76, and Donna Mueller, 75, of Wisconsin, were also killed in the attack.
Lambertson was a vice president at City National Bank, the LA Times reported, and managed sponsorships for the bank for the past three years. He previously worked for the LA Clippers.

DC Fire and EMS responded to reports of a lightning strike in downtown Lafayette Park, located near the White House, around 6:52 p.m. local time on Thursday.

LIGHTNING NEAR THE WHITE HOUSE
DC Fire and EMS spokesman Vito Maggiolo previously told Fox News that the uniformed US Secret Service and officers from the US Park Police attended the strike and immediately began providing aid to the victims.

“We are sorry for the tragic loss of life following the lightning strike in Lafayette Park,” White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said in a statement about the deaths. “Our hearts go out to the families who lost loved ones and we pray for those who are still fighting for their lives.”
