In a tweet, Toronto police said they were called to the area of Wilson Avenue and Clayson Avenue around 3:35 a.m. after reports of a pedestrian being struck. Toronto paramedics took the male pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said the driver — a 42-year-old man — fled the scene but was located by officers. Trending Stories According to police, the driver was arrested for driving while impaired. Roads in the area were closed after the collision.
