Jaswant Singh Chail, 20, allegedly climbed the walls to attack the queen. Chail, from a village near Southampton, was yesterday charged under section 2 of the Treason Act 1842, which covers “discharging or aiming firearms, or throwing or using any offensive material or weapon, with intent to injure or to alarm Her Majesty.” He has also been charged with threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.
