MONROE, Ga. – Police found a kidnapped girl safe and accused her father of kidnapping and killing the child’s mother. The incident was the subject of a Levi’s Call, the Amber Alert System of Georgia for missing and abducted children, on Saturday night. Monroe police officers went to Stonecreek Bend in Monroe on Saturday night and found 31-year-old Crystal Hyatt dead and her child missing. One-year-old Nala Norwood was arrested by 31-year-old Gregory Deonte Norwood, Monroe police said. Nala Norwood (Monroe Police Department) Law enforcement officers spotted a blue Chevy Malibu labeled Georgia CRU7421 in Newton County, where lawmakers arrested Gregory Norwood. Police said the girl was unarmed and is with her grandmother in Gwinnett County. Gregory Norwood is charged with murder and kidnapping. It is located in Walton County Detention Center and other charges are pending.
