The 31-year-old was targeted by two unknown men while walking at Hawkhill Place in Stevenston around 12:30 on Sunday. During the attack he was stabbed and taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment. Police say he has since been released. One of the two men is described as white, about 5 feet 8 and thin. He was wearing a black hat, a black shell jacket and blue jeans. No description of second man available. Saltcoats Police Detective Fraser Murray said: “Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and I will urge anyone with information to report it. “We would be happy to talk to anyone who may have seen or heard of a disturbance in the area or to anyone who may have footage from a dashboard or private CCTV in the area. “Anyone with information can call 101, reporting incident 0279 on April 17 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
