Jamie Crosby, 48, was found guilty by a jury at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday of stabbing 41-year-old Dean Alsop 17 times after Dean’s son Mikey revved the engine last year. Norfolk police said Crosby was found guilty of wounding with intent two women, Alsop’s partner Louise Newell and friend and neighbor Kerin Johnson, who had come out to help. He was acquitted of two counts of attempted murder. During the disturbance in Primrose Crescent, Thorpe St Andrew, on April 14, the force said “some of the stab wounds were caused when the victim was lying face down and motionless” in a “savage attack”. Senior Detective Chief Inspector Phill Gray, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: “This was a cold-blooded attack by a man who intended to cause extreme harm to others. “Crosby is an extremely violent man who has no place in society and we welcome the jury’s verdict today.” In a statement, Dean’s partner Louise Newell said: “I can’t put into words how this has affected our whole family. “My children lost their hero and I lost my chosen one – the person I chose to spend my life with. “My best friend, soul mate, my first love. “Our lives will never be the same without Dean, but we will continue to keep his memory alive.” Crosbie will be sentenced at a later date.
