Eric Ten Hague is reportedly planning a raid on the current Ajax club if he gets a permanent role at Manchester United. The Dutchman is expected to be announced as the next coach of the Red Devils, replacing the transitional boss Ralph Rangnik at the end of the season. It has been reported by the Sun that if Ten Hague takes the role, he plans to make a move for the exciting Brazilian winger Antony. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants to bring Antony to Old Trafford The 22-year-old, who is estimated at around 50 50 million £, has been targeted in the “first phase” of United rebuilding under Ten Hague this summer. Ten Haag is willing to hit the ground running at Old Trafford and is said to believe that Anthony is “ready” for his new appearance at United. An advantage Antony would have is that he knows Ten Hag’s football style, having held a regular position at Ajax for the past two seasons. The exciting winger joined the club for 18 million pounds in February 2020 and has scored 22 goals in 79 appearances. The exciting Brazilian winger has scored 22 goals in 79 appearances for the Dutch team. This season he has a double-digit number of goals and assists, scoring 12 times and scoring ten assists. His appearances warned the national team where he has already made nine appearances and scored two goals. Ten Hag is said to believe it makes sense to sign Antony this summer, instead of risking seeing his value soar to the World Cup if he impresses in Qatar later this year. Antony initially came on as a replacement for Hakim Ziyech following his transfer to Chelsea. Ten Haag is expected to become the coach of United and sign a four-year contract with the club. Sportsmail reported on Saturday that Ten Hague will sign his new four-year contract with United this week with the final details completed. The search for a suitable back-end team to support him will intensify this week with United coach Rene Meulensteen under Sir Alex Ferguson, the latter being linked with a role. Ten Haag is expected to bring his assistant to Ajax, Mitchell van der Gaag, but he wants another assistant who knows the club well, with Robin van Persie also having a job offer, but possibly staying in the Netherlands at Feyenoord due to family obligations. With five games left for the Dutch season – Ajax four points behind PSV at the top – Ten Haag is unlikely to comment on his new job until the end of the season and has been uncomfortable in exchanges with Dutch journalists who insist on reporting the theme.
