According to the report, Meghan “risked” the royal rage after apparently referring to Queen Elizabeth’s response to Megxit in Invictus’s speech. The Duchess of Sussex, dressed in a white jacket and blue jeans, told the audience at the Invictus Games: “This is a service.” It appeared to be an immediate inconvenience to the Queen’s official response to Prince Harry and Megan announcing their retirement as senior members of the royal family. The queen had said at the time that they would not “continue the responsibilities and duties that a life of public service entails”. Meghan, in her speech, continued: “This is service, this is devotion and this is the In¬victus family.” The choice of words of the former Suits actress was deemed “interesting” by the royal commentator Ingrid Seward, who also called her a “thorny hint”.
