Minneapolis police are on the @WCCO rooftop where a gun was fired, possibly from the neighboring apartment complex. We saw officers standing on a balcony looking down in that direction. pic.twitter.com/twpfWvw4Fc — Jeff Wagner (@Jeff_Wagner4) August 8, 2022 Officers arrived at WCCO about 8 p.m., while other officers were seen at the Artistry at 10th apartment building — located in the 1000 block of South Marquette Avenue — standing on a balcony overlooking the WCCO rooftop. A resident confirmed with WCCO at approximately 8:45 p.m. that the apartment building had been placed on lockdown. The gun appears to have blood on the pistol slide. It is somewhat strange to hear the movement of the scanners talking about us – and to hear officers talking behind our roof. Thank God we are all safe and in no immediate danger. @WCCO @CBSNews pic.twitter.com/7NpEznoOlt — Jonah Kaplan (@JonahPKaplan) August 8, 2022 MPD Public Information Officer Garret Parten says the relationship between the shooter and the victim is unclear at this point and there was no sign of forced entry into the apartment. “There has to be a better way to resolve disputes than pulling out a gun,” Parten said. This is Minneapolis’ 56th homicide of the year and the second in the city on Sunday. Check back for more details on this developing story.
