RCMP said in a news release late Friday night that Dawson Romeo — described as non-verbal and autistic — was last seen at about 7:15 p.m. on Friday, walking west from a house about 5 km southwest of Hudson Bay. The nearest intersection is Township Road 450 and Range Road 2041, police said. RCMP said in a statement Saturday afternoon that Romeo’s body was found near the area where he was last seen on July 29. His family has been notified and police said the initial investigation found his death to be non-suspicious. Hudson Bay RCMP also thanked community groups, organizations and local residents who assisted in the investigation. • The photo of the boy published with an earlier version of this story has been removed at the request of the RCMP.
