While there hasn’t been a full reveal yet for Modern Warfare 2, Activision has confirmed that an open beta will drop in September, with details on how to get a code via pre-order or as a possible drop to watch certain streams leading up to launch. When is the Modern Warfare 2 beta? Modern Warfare 2 Release Dates Revealed
During the Call Of Duty League event that aired on August 7, Activision released the timings for the Modern Warfare 2 open beta. There will be two weekends where players can jump in, the first being for PlayStation players and other platforms next week. Here are the timings: Weekend 1 (PlayStation Exclusive)
Early Access – Friday 16th to Saturday 17th September Open beta – Sunday 18th to Tuesday 20th September
Weekend 2 (cross play, all platforms)
Early Access (Xbox + PC), Open Beta (PlayStation) – Thursday 22 to Friday 23 September Open beta (all platforms) – Saturday 24th to Monday 26th September
Early Access players can jump in a few days early if they’ve pre-ordered the game or have access to a code through other means. A few days later each weekend, the open beta will be available – first to PlayStation players, and then on the second weekend, to all platforms.
How to get early access to Modern Warfare 2 beta
There are two main ways to access the Modern Warfare 2 open beta early each respective weekend: If you pre-order, once the beta goes live, you’ll receive email instructions on how to play. If you pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Battle.net, you are automatically approved to participate in Early Access for the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta. What will be included in the Modern Warfare 2 beta?
As of now, Activision and Infinity Ward have yet to reveal much about what to expect from the Modern Warfare 2 open beta.
