Heather Dunn, 39, visited the mall on Tuesday around 7pm and drove to a parking lot. She said as she did so she noticed another vehicle being pulled behind her. As she tried to lock her Nissan Juke, the mother of two claimed she could not do it and noticed that two men and a woman were sitting in the back of the car “staring at her”. She said that when she did, she was able to easily lock her car. Heather, who lives in Bury, said she wanted to warn other drivers to make sure their cars were locked before leaving, as she feared people might be blocking her signal in an attempt to steal the car. She said she reported the incident to Trafford Center security and claimed that a staff member told her that this was not the first report that human car fobs were not working in the car park. I opened and closed all my doors again, but nothing worked. Then I went to the front of my car and it locked. “I realized they had to do something to block the signal. I went back to the car and looked at them in the mirror and they were looking away from me. Read more related articles Read more related articles “I moved my car and then it locked immediately. I called the Trafford Center yesterday and they said it was not the first time this had been reported.” Heather said she was informed by security officials that they would watch the CCTV cameras and pass the car traffic records to the Greater Manchester Police for investigation. “I could not get the car registered on my own. I was so anxious that I just wanted to get away from them,” he said. “There were not many other people around. “My car is just a Nissan Juke. There was a lot of space nearby and they did not have to get up right behind me. I think their car was a black VW. I would say one of the guys was in his 30s, the other was probably in 20 of him and the girl probably in her 20s. “It was only because I was taking off my coat and I did not hear the car clicking that I realized it was not locked. I want to let people know to make sure their car is definitely locked. “If I had not checked I would have gotten out and my car would have left. This is very scary. I guess they were just trying their luck.” A Trafford Center spokesman said: “We are investigating this customer report and reviewing CCTV video from the evening. Our security teams are always on the lookout for any customer concerns and we continue to monitor our car parks closely at all times.” Read more related articles Read more related articles
