Charlie Crist’s campaign announced Monday that the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has supported him in the fight for the Governor of Florida in 2022. Crist and Pelosi have worked together in Congress for the past six years as Crist represented the 13th District of Florida Congress. He is one of more than 130 elected officials and community leaders who have supported Crist to date. In a statement to Florida Politics, Pelosi said Crist’s work in Washington protected the Florida business community from the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and helped make a multibillion-dollar investment in his state infrastructure. “From his tireless work in Congress to his commitment to the people of Florida across the state, Charlie Christ has an impenetrable historical struggle for the people of Sunshine State and delivering significant results,” Pelosi said. “Charlie can and will defeat the current Governor and hit the ground on the first day in Tallahassee. “I’m proud to say that Charlie Crist is the next governor of Florida.” Pelosi’s approval comes as Christ leads the Democrats in raising funds, marking his second $ 1 Million Fundraising Month in March. So far, his campaign has raised more than $ 8.2 million in an effort to overthrow the Governor. Ron De Santis. Crist’s other approvals include the Democratic nominee for governor in 2010 Alex Sink and candidate in 2006 Jim Davis. He has also received trade union support from AFGE, UFCW 1625 and CWA. Christ said it is his honor to receive Pelosi approval as his campaign works to build a Florida that works for all Florida residents. “Speaker Pelosi is a beacon of democratic values, and her leadership raises the voices of all Florida residents who are ready to leave behind divisive, inflammatory rhetoric and really work for the people,” Christ said.
